ONEPLAN = ****

After paying premiums for 3 years, they repudiate a claim for hospitalization after my dog was poisoned on 01 January. First the excuse was the clinical report from the vet was insufficient. Then it was the hospitalization wasn't necessary (he was in hospital for 2 nights) but tried to pacify me with the R1300 on casualty cover. On a bill of R4000+. With standard responses that I can complain to the Ombudsman. Like I have time for that while they keep drawing more premiums against my account. STAY AWAY and rather keep your money in your credit card. You'll use your credit card for all expenses anyway.

Punchline - they don't care about your pets. They care about your premiums.

Good day Patty,

Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention.  We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and the circumstances under which your posting has reached as we do take customer feedback seriously to improve our service and process to ensure that we meet our client’s expectations. We do have your fur-baby's best interest at heart and wish that he has a speedy recovery.
Kindly note that according to the medical report we received from the Vet it confirms that your fur-baby was in hospital for medical observation to ensure that he was well, based on this  and in line with our policy terms and conditions this constitutes as a Casualty claim, therefore the claim was approved up to the cover limit of R1300 per a Casualty claim on the Classic plan.
For a claim to be considered under In-Hospital Admission in the unforeseen event of an accident we will require a completed claims form from the vet and invoice must reflect details of an in-hospital corrective procedure. If the invoice does not reflect a corrective procedure, it will be covered under the Casualty benefit which is available on our comprehensive Classic and Super plan up to their respective cover limits as this is in line with our policy terms and conditions. All in-hospital claims must meet our admission matrix which is found in your policy schedule.

We encourage all our clients and potential clients to ensure that they do understand all products available in the market and perhaps approach their Financial Advisor for a factual comparison of products as hearsay may cause a consumer to make a decision based on inaccurate information.

Certain terms and conditions are always applicable, and these are included in all policy documents before and during your experience with us. The terms and conditions of the policy must be adhered to and app**** fairly for all clients. Please note we are governed by the FAIS Act and must apply the TCF policy to ensure all our clients receive fair service and cover.

Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Kind Regards,
Oneplan
