Oneplan Pet insurance

One Plan pet medical aid has an impractical system towards certain conditions If my dog needs a dental procedure the dog has to be hospitalized to get cover which means it has to stay overnight at increased cost to myself and to One Plan when it can be avoided

If my dog dies at home, I'm not covered for cremation or burial. Only if he dies at the pet hospital / vet and I've completed a claim form is he covered.

I cannot understand the logic in the policy.

I've been with OnePlan since 2016.

Good day Yolanda,

Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience which has been caused and for the circumstances under which your Hellopeter posting has reached us. We do take customer feedback seriously to improve our service and process to ensure that we meet our client’s expectations as we do value you as our client.

Kindly note that Dental extractions for your fur-baby on the Classic Plan is covered under the Casualty benefit up to the cover limit of R1300 per a Casualty benefit claim and your fur-baby has 4 Casualty Benefit claims per a year. Dental scaling and polishing are covered under the Pet Med Savings Benefit up to the cover limit of R750. These are a few of the many benefits and cover limits that our Pet Plans have to offer as the Pet Med Savings and Casualty benefit is a day-to-day benefit. The Classic Plan offers day-to-day and In-hospital benefits. As per our policy terms and conditions, Dentistry or treatment related to teeth / procedures are not covered under the in-hospital benefit and is excluded from the policy.

In the sad event that your fur-baby passes away, kindly note that we will require information from the Vet confirming the cause of Death in order for the claim to be reviewed under the Burial and Cremation benefit.

Certain terms and conditions are always applicable, and these are included in all policy documents before and during your experience with us. The terms and conditions of the policy must be adhered to and app**** fairly for all clients. We do have your fur-babies best interests at heart, and we will assist with all we can in line with our terms and conditions. Please note we are governed by the FAIS Act and must apply the TCF policy to ensure all our clients receive fair service and cover.

We have acknowledged your complaint and we have escalated the matter to the relevant department. One of our consultants will be in contact with you to further discuss the matter at hand.
