02 Nov 2021, 15:27Good day Carina,
Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention.
We like to apologize profusely for any inconvenience which has been caused and for the circumstances under which your Hellopeter posting has reached us.
Upon investigation and with the information provided from the Vet we discovered that the condition that your fur-baby was treated was Parvo Enteritis. Parvovirus is a viral gastrointestinal infection that is preventable by vaccination and is included in the standard puppy vaccines and annual boosters for dogs. Any condition preventable by vaccine will not be covered. Regrettably, the incident benefits one of our general exclusions, which are things not funded for by the Insurer. Unfortunately, this falls within the bounds of our very few excluded conditions. Any conditions that arise due to non-vaccination as recommended by your vet falls under our general exclusion and is stated in our policy schedule (Section 6.9).
Kindly note the card fees of R160 are once off and serves as an activation fee for your Onecard and delivery of the Onecard takes up to 30 days after the first successful debit order.
Certain terms and conditions are always applicable, and these are included in all policy documents before and during your experience with us. Please note that this is by no means a ploy to refuse payment of the claim as we will assist with all we can in line with our terms and conditions.Oneplan subscribes to its TCF principles and will take all reasonable steps to ensure fair and equal treatment of all our clients.
We once again apologize for all that you have been through. Kind Regards,
Oneplan
