OnePlan Health Insurance - RED FLAGS

After an hour and a half long phone consultation the consultant ( who I could name ) sent me an sms to agree to the Debicheck but never emailed me my policy documents! The amount that I was sent was not what I had agreed to. It was higher. I called the next day. The second consultant ( who was rude on the phone telling me to 'stop panicking' - which was uncalled for)- sent me the policy breakdown and the initial consultant's email address, which he had also promised to send me. It has been a week and nobody has actually got back to me and signed me on board....the email I sent to remains unread. I did actually want to join but I won't be now! Huge red flags. Is this how a claim would be processed?

Dear Leigh,

Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention.

We sincerely apologize that your experience with Oneplan has not been a pleasant one and apologize for any inconvenience caused. It is deeply concerning the circumstances under which your Hellopeter posting has reached us.

Customer service is our number one priority, and this is not the level of service we aim to provide our clients with. Please rest assured that this matter will be investigated, as we do value you as our client.

Kindly note that the SMS that is sent out to clients with regards to Debi check has a maximum amount which is 50% added to the normal premium, please note that this does not mean that the amount will be deducted from your account. This amount simply allows for any minor changes that you may request related to adding/removing of the excess buster and or a dependent, or any upgrades to your policy as these changes may affect your premium. We do understand it can be frustrating for clients to continuously accept Debi check mandates for every minor change that would affect the premium therefore the maximum amount was implemented.

We have acknowledged your complaint and we have escalated the matter to the relevant department. One of our consultants will be in contact with you to further discuss the matter at hand.

Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused and we hope to restore the experience.

Kind Regards,
Oneplan

Thanks. But you have. And I have rep****.

Someome called me yesterday and we spoke about my concerns. I explained that I would NOT be joining and wanted to look at other options.
It was not in the initial call, made excplicitly clear to me what my cover limits are and for what pertaining to my chosen plan (the 2nd one) I kept being told 'up to R175 000'. Turns out this only accident cover.
My in hospital cover is only R34 000. My doctor visit limit is R400 a year (or something like that)
Way too low.

Please don't spam me with phonecalls. I do not have time time. Especially at 8.30 am. In the same way that at work you can't randomly sit on the phone with an insurance company - neither can I. Nor can I answer while I am driving.
