OnePlan changes the rules.
I have three pets insured with OnePlan. I took the policy a few years ago since one of my dogs was a German Shephard, and I know that this breed often gets Arthritis, and I wanted to be prepared. I read the T's and C's and it confirmed that Arthritis was covered by the Illness cover, and that the illness covered up to R 33000. The phone app at the time of taking the insurance allowed for claims to be done on the app for 1) Routine Care 2) Vet visit and 3) Illness. My German Shepherd now has Arthritis and I am being denied cover since they now say that to claim for illness the pet has to be "admitted". There isn't an operation for this sickness, its a series of weekly/monthly injections. The app has also subsequently removed the "Illness" choice under its claim page. So it seems that the rules have been changed here to reduce their risk, at the clients expense. I am paying over R 800 a month which it seems now will only cover their annual jabs, I'd rather pay cash!
Thank you for taking the time to take our call to further explain the benefits of our cover.
As per our discussion we will cover for the injections under vet visits up to the cover limit of R1200 per a visit, with a maximum of 4 vet visits per a year.
Our out of hospital benefits such as Routine care and vet visits are for smaller claims and can be done via our Oneplan app. Authorization is required for our In Hospital claims. Should your fur-baby Roxy need to have an operation or procedure that will help with the arthritis, this will be covered under illness in hospital up to R33 000.
We do apologize for any inconvenience which has been caused.
Kind Regards,
Oneplan
