Onepet Policy is non genuine

i have been a paying customer for a number of years paying for my 2 Dogs. They are overall very healthy but getting older and requires procedures and extra maintenance.

My 8 year old dog developed an abscess in a root canal, this required surgery and cleaning. I paid the bill of R3502 and when i submitted my claim Onepet policy decided maximum is R1050.

This is the maximum Onepet pays even thought their premiums go up every year.

Everybody needs to understand Onepet is not going to pay you anything above R1050. This is not the first time but i stayed as a customer to give Onepet one more chance.

I pay R526 x 12 for what? to get cents on the rand? i can save this R526 and i could pay for the procedures myself.

I really believe the Policy is structured that Onepet will rarely pay. The policy is unrealistic and non genuine.

i appreciate the response , i believe im paying to have medical insurance for my pets and yet i cant find the benefit. I being short paid constantly or when i do claim, multiple claims not allowed clause... how do you treat an injury of you have to see a vet and a specialist? Do you have to put your vet and specialist appointments to far apart to get covered? I hope you can see on my account ,I'm not taking advantage at all and merely want my accounts to be paid when i do claim.

Hi Sergio,

Thank you for your patience. We have had a look into your claims and have noted that the pet had undergone a dental procedure. Dental procedures are covered under the vet visit benefit on our policy as we do not cover any in hospital dental procedures.

For an illness/accident cover claim, the pet will be required to be admitted in hospital for an overnight stay. Therefore, your refund was approved for the full amount of your vet visit cover limit. We do apologise for any inconvenience caused by this.

Should you have any further concerns regarding this, please do not hesitate to drop us a message on one of our many social media platforms. Alternatively, you may email us at *** or contact us on ***.

Kind Regards,

this is exactly what i mean. I have yet to find a vet that will admit into a hospital. Its a very convenient clause to not pay, You supposedly selling people a medical insurance, but really its a hospital plan. It was mistake for not reading the fine print policies. Pls insure your staff cancel my policy as requested by email.
