ONE PLAN PET MEDICAL

A year ago I changed my pet insurance to One plan. I was lead to believe that my pet will be covered for ilnesses as well as hospital cover. Now that I had to take my dog to the vet and try to claim, I am told that I only have a hospital plan. This is not what I was told or what I need. So I will now look for a pet medical aid that don't lie to you

Dear Rosa,

Thank you for taking our call earlier and allowing us the opportunity to further discuss the matter at hand.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and the circumstances under which your Hellopeter posting has reached. We do take customer feedback seriously to improve our service and process to ensure that we meet our client’s expectations as we do value you as our client.

As per our telephonic conversation, upon investigation, we discovered that at sales stage the plan that you selected was the Hospital Plan with an add-on of the Pet Med Booster Benefit for your fur-babies. Kindly note that the Hospital plan will only cover admission due to illness or accident claims. A vet consultation will not be covered on the Hospital plan. However, with the Pet Med Booster benefit, you are eligible to claim for preventive care expenses such as sterilization, vaccinations, deworming, tick and flea control, anal gland expression, dental scaling and polishing, nail clipping, chronic medication, as well as hydro- and physiotherapy. This benefit provides coverage for preventive care claims up to the respective cover limit.

For a claim to be reviewed under In-Hospital Admission we will require a completed claims form from the vet and the invoice must reflect details of an In-Hospital corrective procedure. If the invoice does not reflect a corrective procedure, it will be covered under the Casualty benefit up to the respective cover limits that are available on the Classic and Super plan, as this is in line with our policy terms and conditions. All in-hospital claims must meet our admission matrix which is found in your policy schedule.

Certain terms and conditions are always applicable, and these are included in all policy documents before and during your experience with us. The terms and conditions of the policy must be adhered to and app**** fairly for all clients. We do have your fur-babies best interests at heart, and we will assist with all we can in line with our terms and conditions. Please note we are governed by the FAIS Act and must apply the TCF policy to ensure all our clients receive fair service and cover.

We have forwarded your information to the appropriate department, and one of our consultants will contact you to provide a quote for our Pet Classic Plan.

Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience and hope this explanation clarifies the matter.

Kind Regards,
Oneplan
