One Plan- does not deliver what they promise!
So I made an enquiry at one plan for medical Insurance for myself and my husband. We are both a little older but in good health and one plan seemed the only company that did not penalise us for this. Before signing up and during the process the consultant was amazing. Phoned back a couple of times and was very efficient. Then I realised that one payment had come off but I had received no paperwork- I phoned in and had it sent. What a shock! I was very honest when answering questions and he had informed me that some things may be excluded for a year. By the time he read through everything we were an hour an a half into the conversation so I may have switched off as everything was read very quickly but here is my shock- I told them I had a squint repair when I was 1yr old. 52yrs ago and I do not need nor do I wear glasses except for the first level reading glasses yet my policy states-Pre-existing Eye disorders: All treatment, procedures and conditions related to correction of vision are TOTALLY excluded from cover. Other Eye conditions are excluded for 12 months from hospital risk cover (Lens implants and eye specialist visits are TOTALLY excluded). Surely that should only relate to my squint?? Next I said I have had a whiplash in the past (as have more than half of the population) my policy- Pre-existing Neck/ Back disorders/ surgery: All treatment, procedures and related conditions are TOTALLY excluded from hospital risk cover. As a doctor who looked over the policy remarked- if I had a car accident and damaged my back or fell down the stairs etc I would not be covered- the list goes on. In the end they hardly cover anything. Now the fun part. I phone the consultant who says he will phone me back and never does. This is the same gentleman who phoned me constantly BEFORE I signed up. I speak to someone else who said they will refer my query for me and get back to me because maybe it can be changed. I even said to him I hope it is not a stalling tactic so I cannot exercise my right to cancel within 30 days- NOTHING a week later. All I need is my policy cancelled and a refund on my first instalment. I heard that this is an issue with OnePlan- Oh I wish I had taken note and not signed up in the first place. I need this resolved so I can ensure my husband and I are covered and cannot sign with the new company until this is resolved.
