No value foe money

I've had my dog on One Pet for 5 years now, during this time I have claimed once. Recently I took my dog to the vet for removal of a tick, and while there performed his routine vaccines and x-rays. As per One plan, you may claim a value of R1200 for a vet visit and R720 for routine care. I paid a total of R2339 for this visit and claimed the R1920 for the routine care and vet visit. I received a total of R1300 for this claim as "it was my fault I combined the visit and didn't take my dog to the vet on separate occasions." During COVID and also for the sanity of my dog I combined the visit into one. I've paid the monthly fee of R300 for the last 5 years and on my second claim I receive less than 50% of the value of the visit. This is a complete ******* and a total waste of money.

I will be cancelling my service and would not recommend one pet to anyone, rather keep the premium fee under your bed and pay for your vet visits with that, it would be more feasible

Hi Phyllicia,

Thank you for taking the time to air your concerns, we appreciate the feedback and take  it seriously so as to improve our product and services.

With regard to the claims, we cover the claims based on the invoice received up to the particular claims cover limit. Upon investigation of the claims submitted, the vet visit claim was covered in full up to the plans respective cover limit and the routine care claim was only covered partially as the medication given for routine care was only up to R103 as per the invoice.

Kind Regards
Oneplan

As per my complaint that is exactly what I'm complaining about. Your company is saving money on my routine care claim rather than covering the consultation fee which would be covered separately had I been to the vet on multiple occasions rather than one. Previously radiology would also be covered under a separate benefit. The "cover limit" you now have is not worth the cost of the service and relies on quantity rather than quality.

Additionally your consultants are dismissive and distracted. The person that called me to address this issue had the call fail and never bothered calling back.

what is the point of paying for "comprehensive" pet cover when you don't receive such? And your advice is to go to the vet on different occasions (during a pandemic, and not to mention unfair for my pet) in order to capitalize on my benefit rather than providing value for you money.
