Nightmare medical insurance

Possibly the worst medical insurance to have, besides their pathetic useless service. Their terms and conditions and clauses are beyond me, RIDICULOUS! Pay them every month for nothing, basically covered for nothing 🙃. Stay away. Huge regret

Please be advised that we require a confirmation of pregnancy letter from the gynaecologist in order to process the claim under the Maternity Pre-Birth benefit as we only process this benefit when the Insured is 16weeks or later in the pregnancy,

We cannot obtain telephonic confirmation as it is a violation of the POPI Act as we are a third party, we require a written letter for auditing purposes.

Should you be unable to obtain the Confirmation of Pregnancy letter, we will not be able to process the claim under the Maternity Pre-Birth benefit and will therefore be processed under the General Practitioner benefit

Above is what I'm dealing with at the moment, I've sent my receipts, statements etc they don't accept this, ONE PLAN wants you to prove that you pregnant, so you must tell your gynae to write them a letter that you pregnant otherwise you won't be covered. This is the **** you pay for, you pay them for nothing cause when they need to pay and cover they make it so difficult for you - so basically you not covered. Well played One plan 👏 clever tactics when one puts through a claim.

As per out telephonic conversation, kindly note that should we need to obtain personal medical information such as confirmation of pregnancy from a third-party provider we will need to get the clients consent in writing in order to request this information due to the POPI Act. Please note that the POPI Act is security processes in place to ensure the protection of your personal information and certain Rules and Regulations are in place to ensure fair and equal treatment for all clients.

You may claim from month 4 or week 16 of a confirmed pregnancy for the Maternity Pre-Birth Cover. The confirmation of pregnancy letter will serve as a confirmation of how far along you are with your pregnancy as this will ensure that the claim is processed correctly. The reason for this is for auditing purposes on our side.
