Increase in policy because claimed

They offer a product - 4 pet visits and routine check per year. I claimed 3 visits and a routine check (because it is part of the option I choose). The policy costs around R225 and is increasing to R260 from 1 March. But an additional R90 are being charged to my account because I actually used my pet insurance...Going forward I have to pay R350. Moral of the story is you should pay your premium but you are not allowed to claim otherwise your premium goes up by more that R100. The Risk premium charged should cover the possible risks for all services offered under the product. (I also work in the insurance industry).

Hi Hendalize,

We do understand your frustration, however, we do outline the annual premium increase in your policy wording as well as if there are any changes in your pet's risk profile. A 30 day notice period is given prior to the increases.

Should you have any further queries regarding this, you are more than welcome to get a hold of us.

Regards,
The Oneplan Team
