Get quotes elsewhere and make sure what you sign and say yes to over the phone corresponded with what you receive.

My experience with oneplan was just frustration from the beginning and I would suggest you get other quotes from other companies as well ( Make sure you know what you say yes to or sign for, over phone or paper), I currently have 3 insurance policies with them, and 1 of them is a hospital plan for my pet, and as per attachments included in this review, I would suggest you ask all the questions and let them supply everything in written because the Hospital plan brochure is very vague ( let them show you the terms and conditions)towards what they actually cover, and the starting price is R169, per pet, but I am paying R232, which is R30.00 commission, and also they say they cover diagnostics and scans, My brief recent experience: My dog went in for a preconcerting condition and as we all know there is a waiting period of 12 months, and I have taken out these plans since September 2022 to assist me as single pet parent for 2 dogs, so I am past the 3 months, waiting period, but within the hospital plan, his preconcerting condition was his ears, but a none pre consisting condition was an inflamed tonsil, where they had to do tests and diagnostics, and that was not covered at all and they they did not pay back any of my claims. They will easily take your money, but when it comes to claims and chronic tablets, they do not cover that. There are only 7 items excluded for 12 months on this brochure, which is why i say they only cover there own bases, After I phoned several times, to find out if they are not going to pay back even a portion of my claim money, all that they have done is send me suddenly a policy schedule that was never send to me in recent past or beginning, and they directed me to their dispute department ( as per attachments and ombudsman, Now I ask , are these people for real, do they actually care about our pets, or are they just money hungry like most insurance companies that do not own up to what they say? There is no sense of understanding the client because they what to be ahead of the competition, but the after-sales are sadly bad, to be honest. You take them on in the frame of mind that your moneys will be able to assist you in helping your furbaby, but sadly it is not so. Regarding my own insurance I have with them, I am supposed to pay R1115 and I am paying R1400, +_ because of my age. I moved away from other insurance companies because oneplan made it seems that they are the best, but they are in my eyes not These people make their own rules to their own benefit. You are suppose to receive a sense of discount if you have more than 1 pet, as the brochure describes, I do not think that applies to me, after I have asked. After I asked several times from the claim department, a sudden mail arrived with the policy schedule out of nowhere, where that was supposed to be given I believe earlier. again covering their bases. If you would like to know more please contact me through my webpage. https://dreaminfinitybrand88.com/ @dreaminfinitybrand88 Regarding the Attachments Special Conditions number 5 ( should you pet be admitted for various events authorizations will only be granted for 1 event, ( That is why i say vagueness, double standards} Illness admission 60 days In sense the Tonsil was according to their Triage red, because we had to find out if he might have cancer, but again there is vagueness and double standards.

Good day Chantel,

Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and the circumstances under which your Hellopeter posting has reached as we do take customer feedback seriously to improve our service and process to ensure that we meet our client’s expectations.

Kindly note we have discovered that the inception date of the Pet Hospital plan for your fur-baby was the 1st of September 2022. You informed us that your fur-baby Fudge currently has an ear condition at sales stage and the sales agent did inform you over the recorded line that any Ear conditions e.g., allergies, chronic infections and any costs related thereto are excluded from cover for the first 12 months.

Records on our system also reflect that the policy documents were sent to your listed email address on the 26th of August 2022 as well on the 30th of August 2022 before the policy inception date. According to the policy documents that you have received it clearly states that there is a 12-month exclusion for any ear related conditions for your fur-baby.

Please note that with regards to the claim for the tonsils, we have reviewed the Vet invoices. The services rendered on the invoice were only diagnostic tests and will fall under the Casualty cover limit which would have been covered on our comprehensive Classic and Super plan up to their respective cover limits as this is in line with our policy terms and conditions. Your fur-baby Fudge is currently covered on the Hospital Plan, unfortunately any diagnostic tests is excluded from this plan type.

Kindly note according to our policy schedule under the heading "What is Not Covered" on the Oneplan Pet Hospital Admission Cover Section (point 2) it states, Admission and/or hospitalization exclusively for diagnostic procedures, monitoring and/or observing is not covered under the in-hospital benefit, however this will be covered under the day-to-day benefits on the Comprehensive plans.

Should a diagnostic procedure result in a confirmed diagnosis the cost of the in-hospital corrective procedure can be reviewed under the authorized Hospital admission cover limit. Kindly note that all in-hospital claims must meet our admission matrix which is found in your policy schedule.

In terms of the multi-pet discount, kindly note that this only applies if you have more than 1 pet on the same plan type. You have 1 fur-baby on the Hospital Plan and 1 fur-baby on the Accident Plan which will not make you eligible for a pet discount.

With regards to your Health policy that you have with us, the base premium on the plan type that you have chosen starts from R1115. This premium excludes any add on features e.g., an excess buster and or any policy loading.

Certain terms and conditions are always applicable, and these are included in all policy documents before and during your experience with us. The terms and conditions of the policy must be adhered to and app**** fairly for all clients. We do have your fur-babies best interests at heart, and we will assist with all we can in line with our terms and conditions. Please note we are governed by the FAIS Act and must apply the TCF policy to ensure all our clients receive fair service and cover.

We encourage all our clients and potential clients to ensure that they; do understand all products available in the market; and perhaps approach their Financial Advisor for a factual comparison of products as hearsay may cause a consumer to make a decision based on inaccurate information.

Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused and we hope the above provides clarity on your concerns.

Kind Regards,
Oneplan
