Exceptional service, with kindness

We have been a client of OnePlan pet insurance for the last 6 years. People often say that you don't know if your insurer is any good until you need to claim - and OnePlan has been excellent at every turn. In 2022, our cat contracted FIP, a disease that at the time, there was only one (very expensive) treatment option. Even diagnosing FIP is expensive as there is no single test to confirm a diagnosis. The treatment (which included hospitalisation and 84 days of consecutive treatment) worked, and our baby survived FIP. OnePlan paid a huge portion of the claim - far more than what we could have expected. Unfortunately, our cat's kidneys were damaged by the disease, and after a brief symptomatic period, we were forced to make the terrible decision to put her to sleep. It was the most heartbreaking time for us. OnePlan was, again, so efficient in paying out her hospital claim, covering a very large portion of her hospital and cremation costs. Our special thanks to Elaine Roets, who was our Claims Consultant for our cat's final hospitalisation. She was so kind, compassionate and helpful. She was also very efficient and proactive in keeping us up to date, and was always thinking about the next step at a time when we were really struggling to process what was happening to our little one, and our admin would have definitely fallen through the cracks.
