DON'T SIGN UP FOR ONEPLAN - THEY WILL NOT PAY BACK YOUR CLAIMS!

Absolutely terrible service and completely overpriced. I have been with OnePlan pet insurance for three years without a single claim. I assumed because I was paying R230 a month, that I was on full comprehensive cover for my dog. Hospital plans with DotSure are R89/month so surely if I was paying R230 a month, I would be getting more than just hospital cover. A month ago, we submitted our first claim after my dog got sick and was treated with antibiotics- our claim was rejected as we were just on a hospital plan. My dog now has to go for a procedure where she needs to be put under anesthetic- OnePlan gave me the OnePlan "credit card" where you are able to get funds paid directly in to the card. I don't understand the point of this card as OnePlan doesn't pre-authorize anything. I have tried to get pre-authorization for the procedure my dog needs to go for and they have said we can only claim back once we have paid in full and they will only consider our claim if she stays at the vet overnight.

OnePlan will look for any reason not to pay your claim out- I have paid OnePlan almost R10 000 in my three years with them and my first and second claim for a max of R3000 have been rejected. A total waste of money without having your best friend's wellbeing at the centre of their purpose.

Shocking. Would 10000% not recommend.

Good day Aimee,

Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. We do take customer feedback seriously to improve our service and process to ensure that we meet our client’s expectations.

Kindly note that for a claim to be considered under In-Hospital Admission, the invoice must reflect details of an in-hospital corrective procedure. Should a diagnostic procedure result in a confirmed diagnosis the cost of the in-hospital corrective procedure will be reviewed under the authorized Hospital admission cover limit.

All in-hospital claims must meet our admission matrix which is found in your policy schedule. Should the invoice only reflect an overnight stay solely for diagnostic procedures, unfortunately, the claim will be covered under the Casualty benefit on the Classic and Super plan up to the respective cover limit.

Certain terms and conditions are always applicable, and these are included in all policy documents before and during your experience with us. The terms and conditions of the policy must be adhered to and app**** fairly for all clients, please note that this is by no means a ploy to refuse payment of the claim. We do have your fur-babies best interests at heart, and we will assist with all we can in line with our terms and conditions. Please note we are governed by the FAIS Act and must apply the TCF policy to ensure all our clients receive fair service and cover.

We have acknowledged your complaint and we are dealing with it accordingly. We will be in contact with you at the requested time. Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Kind Regards,
Oneplan
