Do NOT use Oneplan Pet Insurance
Once again Oneplan Pet Insurance have changed the goal posts. My cat was taken to the vet with acute diarrhoea. X-rays were taken and blood smears done. I submitted my claim of R1774 which the vet completed on an In Hospital Claim form. I have just been told that only R1300 will be payable because the invoice said consultation it is classed as a casualty and on my class of policy R1300 is the maximum that can be paid out. This is preposterous, so no matter what is wrong with your pet unless it is kept overnight the limit is R1300. My monthly premiums have almost doubled still I took out this policy, I pay and excess buster as well and that is what I an entitled to. I have had endless problems with this policy from day one and plan to find another service provider
Thank you for taking our call earlier and allowing us the opportunity to further discuss the matter at hand.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and the circumstances under which your Hellopeter posting has reached.
As per our conversation, kindly note that the services rendered on the invoice fall under the casualty cover limit which has been approved up to the cover limit of R1300 on the Classic plan. Should the vet bill exceed R1300, unfortunately the client will be liable for the difference as claims are paid up to the respective cover limits. Your fur-baby will receive 4 Casualty Benefit claims per a year and once the annual cover limit has been exceeded the cover limit benefit will renew on the anniversary of your policy.
For a claim to be considered under Illness in Hospital Cover, the invoice must reflect details of a procedure and/or inpatient treatment administered for the diagnosed condition, and where a charge for an overnight admission is reflected, it will be wholly considered.
Certain terms and conditions are always applicable, and these are included in all policy documents before and during your experience with us. We will assist with all we can in line with our terms and conditions. Please note that this is by no means a ploy to refuse payment of the claim, as we do have your fur-babies best interests at heart, and we will assist with all we can in line with our terms and conditions. Oneplan subscribes to its TCF principles and will take all reasonable steps to ensure fair and equal treatment of all our clients.
Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Kind Regards,
Oneplan
