Debited for a policy that was never activated

We were interested in taking our car insurance for 2 new vehicle being purchased last week. Unfortunately because the vehicles are in the business name we could not continue the policy. We did a cancellation same day, before the policy could even become effective. To our disgust the debit orders still ran this morning for over R3800. How do you take a debit order for a policy that was never activated?????????????????

An email was sent to your cancellation team on the very same day.....This is really poor customer service on your part. There was even chats on the WhatsApp platform regarding us not wanting to go ahead with the cover due to the vehicles needing to be on the company name.....

Dear Pearl,

Thank you for getting back to us.

We sincerely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience this has caused. We can confirm that the policy has been cancelled, and once the debit reflects as successful on our side, we will proceed with processing the refund for the premium collected.

Please note that it typically takes 4–5 working days from the debit date for the status to update in our system. Rest assured, we are monitoring it closely and will escalate the refund request as soon as the update comes through.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.

Kind regards,
Oneplan.
