31 Jan 2022, 21:09Hi Tanya,
Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention.
We do sincerely apologize for any inconvenience which has been caused. We have attempted to contact you on the listed number; however, it was to no avail.
Kindly note according to our policy schedule it states that for Casualty claims, you may claim for a Casualty event up to the claim limit per event with a fourteen (14) day waiting period between the initial event and the next event, However you may claim for follow up visits for the same event until the event limit has been reached within a period of 14 days ‐ for example, if your limit is R500 and your previous claim was only for R250, you can still claim another R250 for the follow-up vet visit for the same issue. You may not claim for the same event under a new cover within the fourteen (14) day waiting period.
The Classic plan that your fur-babies are cover on has day-to-day and In-hospital benefits. The plan includes a Pet Med Savings benefit that may be used towards preventative care claims and has a cover limit of R750. Should clients request for more cover, they can choose to add on the Pet Med Booster. The Casualty benefit has a cover limit of R1300 and is limited to 4 Casualty benefits per a year. A vet consultation will fall under the Casualty benefit claim, and should the vet bill exceed R1300, unfortunately the client will be liable for the difference as claims are paid up to the respective cover limits. The Pet Med Savings and Casualty Benefit falls under our day-to day benefits and differentiates from the In-Hospital cover limits. There are annual cover limits on all our cover types. Once the annual cover limit has been exceeded, the cover limit benefit will renew on the anniversary of your policy.
Please note that the policy inception date for your fur-baby Teddy is the 02 Feb 2017 and the inception date for your fur-baby Bear is the 01 August 2018. Due to the inception dates differentiating since both your fur-babies were not added on the policy at the same time, the anniversary dates on the policy for each pet will differ. Therefore, the cover benefit renewal date for each pet differs.
Certain terms and conditions are always applicable, and these are included in all policy documents before and during your experience with us. The terms and conditions of the policy must be adhered to and app**** fairly for all clients, please note that this is by no means a ploy to refuse payment of the claim. We do have your fur-babies best interests at heart, and we will assist with all we can in line with our terms and conditions. Please note we are governed by the FAIS Act and must apply the TCF policy to ensure all our clients receive fair service and cover.
We once again apologize for all that you have been through.
