Be extremely careful of Oneplan Medical Aid!!!

Oneplan has too many hidden t&c's and so-called "benefits," which can NOT actually be utilized, of which the consultants FAIL to disclose, despite The Informations Act calling for absolute disclosure. One has to ply the necessary information out of them. They debited my account WITHIN the 7 day cooling off period, YET THE POLICY WAS NOT EVEN CONCLUDED YET SINCE THEY WERE YET TO ADD MY DAUGHTER TO THE MEDICAL AID, WHICH WAS A CONDITION OF MY ACCEPTANCE (CALL RECORDS REFER)... THEY HAD NOT YET ADDED HER. THEY WERE IN THE PROCESS OF DOING SO WHEN WE REALIZED DURING OUR CONFERENCE CALL, THAT WE WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO UTILIZE THE SO CALLED MEDICATION BUDGET DUE TO SEVERE RESTRICTIONS THAT WOULD NEVER ALLOW ONE TO UTILIZE THE BUDGET GRANTED FOR THE YEAR EVER!! R180.00 medication cover per script is insane! I immediately declined the policy, yet they STILL DEBITED MY ACCOUNT and now they FAIL to refund my monies, despite advising them two days after the initial inquiry, that I don't want to initiate the cover. The debit was NOT authorize!!! Now they try to use the excuse that I have 30days cover which I don't want and despite stating on record that the only way that they could stop the debit, was to cancel the policy. This is extremely ************! Mad as hell!

Good day Lee,

Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention.

We are sorry to hear of the circumstances under which your Hellopeter posting has reached us, and we do apologize for any inconvenience caused. We do take customer feedback seriously to improve our service and process to ensure that we meet our client’s expectations.

We have attempted to contact you on the listed number; however, it was to no avail.

Kindly note that clients have a 7-day cooling-off period from the date of application. During this period, if a client finds that they are unsatisfied with the product provided by our Insurer, they have the option to cancel the policy within the 7-day cooling-off period. This can be done without any financial consequences, and if a premium is collected, it will be refunded to the nominated bank account.

Upon reviewing your policy, we have determined that it was canceled within the 7-day cooling-off period, and therefore, a refund will be processed for the premium that was collected. Please note that it typically takes 7 - 14 working days, or potentially sooner depending on the banks, for bank refunds to be reflected in your account.

Insurance or indemnity insurance covers up to a respective cover limit. We inform all our clients that this product is not a Medical Aid product but a Health Insurance product. Our products are marketed and disclosed that we cover up to certain cover limits as the cover is not unlimited and there is an annual cover limit on all benefits offered.

Certain terms and conditions are always applicable, and these are included in all policy documents before and during your experience with us. The terms and conditions of the policy must be adhered to and app**** fairly for all clients, and we will assist with all we can in line with our terms and conditions. Please note we are governed by the FAIS Act and must apply the TCF policy to ensure all our clients receive fair service and cover.

We encourage all our clients and potential clients to ensure that they do understand all products available in the market and perhaps approach their Financial Advisor for a factual comparison of products as hearsay may cause a consumer to make a decision based on inaccurate information.

Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused and hope the above brings clarity to the matter.

Kind Regards,
Oneplan
