Avoid Oneplan Pet Insurance

Avoid the pet insurance. The product was misrepresented to me from the start and ended up being worthless. When I explained that the telesales person had **** about the product, Oneplan's response was more "Ag, shame," than "How can we help you?" My impression of Oneplan is a slick company that tries to dazzle you with gimmicks but doesn't deliver on its promises. I regret every cent I spent on them.

Dear Nick,

Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and the circumstances under which your Hellopeter posting has reached as we do take customer feedback seriously to improve our service and process to ensure that we meet our client’s expectations.

Records on our system confirm that your fur-babies are covered on the Primary Pet Plan and there were 2 Casualty claims processed for your fur-babies up to the cover limit of R1000 for each claim.

Kindly note that we have 5 different plan types for our Pet product, which include the Accident Plan, Primary Plan, Hospital Plan, Classic Plan, and Super Plan, and our pet plans are specially designed to cater to our client’s individual needs.
The Primary, Classic, and Super Plans offer day-to-day benefits as well as in-hospital benefits up to respective cover limits depending on the benefit that you are claiming for and funds can be loaded onto the Onecard for your day-to-day benefits, whereas the Hospital plan covers for an in-hospital corrective procedure, however, clients can choose to add the Pet Med Booster as an extended to the Primary and Hospital plan which will provide an annual cover limit towards preventative day-to-day claims for your fur-baby.
Preventative care claims for your fur-baby include, voluntary sterilization, vaccinations, deworming, tick and flea control will be covered under the Pet Med Savings or Pet Med Booster benefit.

A Vet consultation, prescribed medication, pathology, radiology, and medically justifiable dentistry, minor procedures, and treatments or diagnostic tests will be covered under the Casualty benefit on the Primary, Classic, and Super plan up to the respective cover limit.
Kindly note that insurance or indemnity insurance covers up to a respective cover limit. We inform all our clients that this product is not a Medical Aid product but a Pet Health Insurance product. Our products are marketed and disclosed that we cover up to certain cover limits as the cover is not unlimited and there is an annual cover limit on all benefits offered which will renew on the anniversary of the policy for each pet covered on the policy.  We encourage all our clients and potential clients to ensure that they do understand all products available in the market and perhaps approach their Financial Advisor for a factual comparison of products as hearsay may cause a consumer to make a decision based on inaccurate information.

Certain terms and conditions are always applicable, and these are included in all policy documents before and during your experience with us. The terms and conditions of the policy must be adhered to and app**** fairly to all clients. Please note we are governed by the FAIS Act and must apply the TCF policy to ensure all our clients receive fair service and cover.

We have acknowledged your complaint, and we have escalated the matter to the relevant department. One of our consultants will be in contact with you to further discuss the matter at hand.

Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused.         Kind Regards,
Oneplan
