Authorisation number given but refuse to pay
Good day<br> <br> My daughter was admitted to hospital and One Plan admitted her.<br> <br> They gave authorisation with the following number *** that she can go for a brain scan in Burger Radiologist.<br> <br> Now they claim the are not paying for it.<br> <br> According to the Radiologist giving a authorisation number does not mean it will be paid, it only means it can be done., Really I have never heard of it.<br> <br> Where does a single mom suddenly get over the R6000 to pay for something that would have been paid by my hospital insurance.<br> <br> Can somebody please explain this to me

Kindly note the MRI Brain scan was not approved in hospital only the CT Scan was approved.
As per the terms and conditions of the policy diagnostic admissions are not covered. The MRI brain scan was not related to your admission.
In order for your request to be reviewed for payment the Underwriting department request the results of the MRI scan. Please forward the results to ***.
