04 Jun 2026, 07:31My husband and I are currently divorcing, and I recently transferred our pet insurance policy for Xena into my name. Xena has been insured under this policy since 2014.During the transfer, Gershwin Lewis assured me that this was not a new policy and that the quoted premium of R1,000 would be adjusted back to the current premium of R600. He also asked me to leave him a 5-star review on HelloPeter, which I did. However, the policy I received still reflects a premium of R1,000, and this morning I received a debit order confirmation for that amount. Despite emailing and calling Gershwin, I have not received clarity.Could you please explain why a simple policy transfer due to divorce has resulted in such a significant premium increase, despite assurances that it would remain at R600?At this stage, it seems more emphasis is placed on securing positive ratings than on resolving customer concerns.Jan
