3 Hospitals wont accept One Plan at Emergency room

<p>At 18:57 (14/1/17) I called Oneplan for an authorisation as my youngest son had an accident with his bicycle and needed urgent stitches .When I called oneplan I was told that I must request that the hospital emergency room call them for authorisation. I on arrival asked the hospital to contact One Plan ..I was told that they dont work with one plan and that we must pay "cash" and claim from one plan.</p> <p> </p> <p>I have been with one plan a number of years and this is now the third time this has happened.</p> <p>Once at Montana Hospital {Netcare} for a childs broken arm.</p> <p>Eugrene Marais {Life Group} - Stitches for eldest son eventaily found a G.P willing to help us at his rooms</p> <p>Latest - Pretoria East {Netcare}</p> <p> </p> <p>We have been members of One Plan for a number of years but when it comes to an emergency the card is of no use .</p> <p> </p> <p>We belong to One Plan to help in emergencys so that we dont have to fork out cash , I am now looking at other alternatives ... what would happen in a critical situation .. WOULD MY CHILD DIE ?</p> <p>Why does One Plan not partner with certain hospitals or give a list of One Plan friendly hospitals ?</p> <p>My Childs trip to the hospital cost around R2k which many people do not have.</p> <p>I wonder who else has experienced the similar?</p> <p> </p> <p>Trusting this will be resolved.</p> <p>Kind Regards</p> <p>Wayne McLachlan</p>
