Horrible Experience @Jaecoo Omoda Centurion

I am writing this review to express my deep dissatisfaction and dismay at the appalling level of service I recently experienced at Jaecoo Omoda Centurion, located in Hennopspark, adjacent to Shell and Auto Investments in Centurion. My encounter with this dealership, specifically with a salesperson named Ian Venter, has left me both disappointed and disillusioned.

I visited the dealership with a clear interest in purchasing a used Volkswagen Golf 7 GTI. Mr. Venter facilitated a test drive, after which I conducted a thorough inspection of the vehicle. It became immediately evident that the car had multiple defects: the rear bumper had been poorly repainted, with a noticeable mismatch between it and the main body; both the driver and passenger doors had signs of respray, and the suspension was severely compromised, producing a concerning knock that Mr. Venter himself appeared unaware of until I pointed it out. To his credit, he acknowledged these faults, and we agreed he would consult with his manager and revert.

Days passed with no feedback. When I eventually followed up, I was sent a quotation that included inflated on-road and administration costs, despite no agreement on price having been reached. I informed Mr. Venter of my intention to return to the dealership for further discussions. However, upon my arrival and reiteration of the vehicle’s faults, I was suddenly informed that the vehicle had been sold.

Out of concern and suspicion, I asked a white colleague to contact the dealership a few days later and inquire about the same vehicle. To my astonishment, the car was still available and he was even offered a better deal. I was utterly appalled. I had initially dismissed the possibility of racial bias in my treatment, but this incident has forced me to reconsider.

While I understand that the Golf GTI was a used vehicle and not part of the Jaecoo Omoda brand offering, the experience has nonetheless severely tarnished my perception of the dealership as a whole. For a new and emerging brand to display such *********, misleading, and arguably discriminatory practices is not only disappointing t is unacceptable.

What is most disheartening is that I was a serious buyer, with the intention of purchasing two vehicles in cash—a Golf GTI and a Jaecoo J7. That opportunity was squandered by the dealership’s conduct.

My advice to potential buyers: proceed with caution at this branch. If this is how Jaecoo Omoda Centurion conducts its business—lacking integrity, transparency, and professionalism—then perhaps they should refrain from selling any vehicle outside their core brand. Selling a vehicle in such defective condition to any unsuspecting buyer would have been unconscionable. Had the roles been reversed, I am confident they would have devalued such a car by R100,000 based on the defects alone.

I rate this dealership 0/10 and will actively encourage others to explore alternative branches and dealerships when making purchasing decisions. Consumers deserve better.
