Waiting Game
Morning, so it's been over 6 months to get my insurer (Nedbank) to honour the agreement reached by your office November last year which was that Nedbank had to come out to repair my property. Since March/ April this year I've been waiting on feedback from your Ombudsman who is either too busy or on leave or her assistant has some or other excuse as to why I'm still waiting on Nedbank to honour your outcome. It is apparent to me the Ombudsman and my insurer Nedbank is intent on dragging out this matter in hopes I'll give up.
With both cases I've referred to the Ombudsman the waiting game has take me over a year and now with this case in particular in has reached the 18 months mark... No hope no help.
We have had a look at the file and hereby confirm that the matter had been resolved on the basis that the insurer would effect repairs to your property.
It further appears from our records that you were advised of this outcome as early as November 2014.
We have earlier today forwarded you further correspondence from the insurer dated 20 May 2015 in which they confirm that they have been prepared to finalize the matter all along, but that you had frustrated their efforts in that regard in that you had referred the matter to other forums and the media, and that they had awaited those other processes to be finalized.
Our office is also aware of the delays which were attributable to the lack of water supply to the insured premises, which apparently made it impossible for the insurer to effect the repairs.
We trust that you and the insurer are now in a position to proceed with the repairs and the finalization of he matter.
Yours faithfully
