USELESS!!!! BIASED & UNFAIR

The Ombudsman for Short Term insurance is a JOKE! The response i received for my complaint was riddled with inaccuracies and presumptions.

One of my complaints to the OSTI was the fact that the insurer (Oakhurst) had provided me with a Market Value far less the value quoted by a commonly used source in the Market, i.e. The Auto Dealers Guide. I even went insofar as to provide values of similar vehicles on the market, which were closer in value to the Auto Dealers guide report, than the values quoted provided by the insurance company.Furthermore, I provided proof to the Ombud that the company being used by the insurer is an associate, having the same directors. The Ombuds ( John Theunissen) , ignored this. Didn't even so much as to provide me with a response to this concern. Is it not ********* to have a related company act as an independent valuator in this situation? Does the mere assistance of a relationship between the Insurer and the valuations company utilized not constitute a conflict of interest? Well i suppose not according to John.

All of this 11 months after i lodged my complaint!!!

OSTI is useless!!! That office needs to be closed.

Ayanda, I have not received the promised rely to this issue from the Ombudsman responsible. he continues to ignore the obvious conflict of interest that exists between the Insurer and Car Valuations Company.
