Unfair, Useless and Biased
One thing above all seems undeniable, the office of the short term Ombuds defends insurance companies with illogical arguments that conform neither to the law nor to common sense . The investigation processes is unsound and lacking proper engagements with the complainant. The OSTI provides the insurance company with countless opportunities to defend its position, whilst the same opportunities are not afforded to the complainant. Instead, you are ignored and treated with disdain during the entire investigation process. Proven injustices can and should be redressed. It is never too late!!!

We note that you are not satisfied with the way that your matter is being handled. I have had a look at your file under reference number M1672/17T and confirmed that the matter is still ongoing. On the issue of the service you have received, we advise that the process of investigating a complaint of this nature takes time as this office has to give both you and the insurer the fullest opportunity of submitting evidence. In addition, we have a very small staff complement and have to deal with complaints from all over South Africa. At any given time, there are several hundred matters pending. Each matter is dealt with on its own merits and with the same degree of urgency and importance.
We advise that customer experience is taken seriously by this Office and we continuously endeavour to improve our service. We therefore appreciate your feedback.
