To resolve short term insurance complaints UNFAIRLY, INEFFICIENTLY AND PARTIALLY.

Case M907/16T

The ombudsman is unfair in his dealings. I reported Hollards conduct and refusal to pay my claim to the ombudsman in March 2016. It's been 6 months and to date my complaint has not been finalized. Furthermore I was requested to provide an expert / professional opinion on the damage to my vehicle and when I provided it, it was completed ignored and discounted. Hollard provided information gathered from Google to justify why they did not settle my claim and the ombudsman took this gospel!!! Over and above this certain elements of the claim was agreed to be settled by Hollard and to date nothing has happened!!!

Frankly I believe the ombudsman for short term insurance to be useless!!!

********** conduct by Hollard was completely ignored by the ombudsman!!!

please can I get tangible feedback regarding my case and not email stating that you will respond when you in the position too! This is all I've been recieving from the ombudsman when I request an update!!!

Dear Mandla817

We have reviewed your file and it is apparent from same that you have been advised of the outcome of our investigation and that our file is now closed. This was conveyed to you in our letter of 02 August 2016.

It is also clear from our records that you had not been able to substantiate a valid complaint or that the items for which you had sought to claim, were part of a valid claim.

We can only make determinations based on available, reliable evidence and nothing else.

Lastly, you were advised to take legal advice and to pursue the matter further elsewhere, should you deem this appropriate.

We also note that while you state that your evidence has been ignored (suggesting that you are aware that a decision has been made on your matter), you contradict this by also stating that you have not received feedback. We will however re-send our letter of 2 August 2016 for your records.

Our file remains closed.

Yours faithfully
