Short Term Insurance ombudsman totally *********** if not mischievous
In August 2017, Discovery Health sent me an email claiming that according to their records I owe them R5354.29. I requested the accounting details leading to this debt. I kept on receiving explanations but nothing referring to accounting details which would justify the debt. The answers received might be described as mischievous in the way they avoided the facts. In January 2018 I referred the matter to the ombudsman who clearly also did not read my complaint, nor the unsatisfactory explanation provided by Discovery Health regardless of my follow-up letters to the ombudsman who did not even notice my complaint/reference number namely CMS 67804 and insisted that I follow the procedure to report a complaint with them. On 22 September 2018 I received an email from CMS, and I quote: “your Complaint with Nr 67804 has been finalized and the complaint is deemed as closed. This is an automated notification. Your Analyst is:Shiame Lehong. E-Mail : ********** It is clear that my numerous emails to CMS was never read and all they did was to pass the unsatisfactory Discovery Health emails on to me without reading the same. From January 2018 to 22 September 2018 CMS did absolutely nothing in order to understand and resolve my problem with Discovery Health.
