sad day in africa OMbudsman favour the company
this office is a joke it favours the companies and the man in the street has no say , you submit documentation the companies tell them it is to verify the registration number and the vin number but the whole car was inspected , so when it comes to a complaint they companies rule the roost , my honest opinion that all these OMBUDSMEN are total waste of money to the public

23 Mar 2021, 15:03Dear Mr. Peter Staffen
We appreciate the fact that you were not satisfied with the outcome of your claim and the complaint lodged in this office for investigation. However, your allegation that OSTI favors "the companies" is unfounded and incorrect. OSTI takes its role as an impartial and independent forum very seriously and deals with every complaint that is lodged with it in this way.
When deciding a complaint, we consider all the relevant facts, evidence, and arguments. In the interests of confidentiality, we cannot go into the specific merits of your matter on this platform. I have however reviewed the file and confirm that the Assistant Ombudsman's decision was sound.
With that said, if you are not happy with OSTI’s decision, your rights are not at all affected. You are not bound by our decisions. You are still free to look for other ways to continue to challenge the insurer’s decision. You can see a lawyer, go to court or pursue other forms of dispute resolution such as arbitration.
Yours faithfully,
Ayanda Mazwi
Senior Assistant Ombudsman.
