OSTI - WHEN A MINOR CHILDS PROPERTY INSURANCE PAYMENT IS IN DISPUTE.

On 23 August 2022 I laid a complaint with Osti with regards to an interim settlement that I received from Mutual and Federal risk financing for the April 2022 floods. I've been awaiting feedback from the ombudsman since then. There has been no response to several emails that I sent through with regards to a decision on the matter. When I call the osti offices no one can give me answers with regards to progress. I'm told that they are waiting for a response from the ombudsman. There has been three different administrators on this case and this matter has been sitting for 18months. I send emails which are completely ignored. I was paid an interim settlement and there was no final settlement made by the insurance company. The insurance company ignored my claim basing it on maintenance and also accusing me of not showing them damages. I sent through proof in writing, quotations before and after pics, emails, whattsapp messages, insurance quotes, damage report etc, and still no response from the ombudsman. If a decision cant be reached and they require more time the least the offices of Osti can do is keep me informed on progress. I feel like my claim is being ignored based on the fact that I have proved that the assessor had **** on certain occasions. Its absolutely appalling the manner in which I am treated by Osti. I honestly feel, I stand to be corrected, that the only reason a decision cant be reached is because it will rule in my favor as either the body corporate or insurance company should be held liable. This was an estate late property and the property belongs to a minor child and even though this is the case osti takes no interest in resolving this matter. The minor child is being prejudiced in a country where children rights are acknowledged. Cant osti make a decision and allow us to go on with our lives. The property cannot even be sold due to the damages. I have spent my own money on a property that is not mine because the minor child could not afford to repair it or live in such a terrible condition. I'm at my wits end and I dont know how to resolve this. Is this the kind of treatment that Osti dishes out to those fighting for what's owed to a minor who cannot voice her opinion. How is the minor child supposed to repair her property when she has no money to do it. Does the property lay like this while a decision is not being made. We take on insurance to be compensated during a disaster. It's disgusting that an insurance company can play around and deprive a minor child with no income a right to have her home repaired. It's one thing when the insurance company deprives a child, but it becomes questionable when Osti takes such a long time to make a decision regarding a minors child's rights, when they are such a reputable organization. What's the point of having a service like Osti, when they cant resolve matters regarding childrens property. It seems like justice has once again failed a minor child !
