OMSTI making us suffer

Looking at the reviews here, I am concerned if my case will be finalised anytime soon. I am also concerned by how much cases the OMSTI rules in favor of the insurers although people claim they submitted strong evidence.

My case in particular was submitted in March and I submitted all the additional information that was needed and so did the insurer. At first the process was promising to be smooth and quick but now it seems to be stuck.

My claim was for a mechanical warranty. The workshop stated that there was an excessive play in the pistons due to the pistons that have shrunk. (this falls under engine, and the policy covers the engine).

The insurer took about 10minutes to reject the claim stating that this falls under maintenance (maybe they thought the seals/rings needed to be changed). The mechanic explained that the pistons shrunk and that is unforeseen. Now the insurer is coming up with stories that, I might have driven the car while it was faulty. Initially when they rejected the claim, this was not stated.

The OMSTI is failing to make ruling although all the info and evidence were submitted. It's been 6 months now. What is it that has slowed them down...

The car is still at the mechanic, waiting for the outcome...
