Momentums short term Insurance

I have tried to speak both to Tukedi and Palesa and in fact I do not want Palesa to deal with my claim as she is rude and has absolutely no client service skills or claims experience necessary to handle claims.

My car license expired on the 27/08/2020 and as we all know due to the Covid the licensing dept has extended the renewal for an extra few months without penalties, plus the 21 days grace. In fact I went to the closest post office a week prior to the accident and the queues were around the corner of the shopping center at the Honeydew Post office.

The ladies at the claims department are forcing me to pay a car license even though my car is a total write off!!! They want me to renew my license so that they can get a higher price for the wreck that remains a code 2 ... I keep telling them that I do not want that car been repaired or to endanger anyone's lives and that I wish to have the car s****ped written off as a code 3. What does Palesa say to me "why don't I buy the wreck back and have it repaired myself" I also do not want to waste my money to license the vehicle when the car is a write off. I have been looking for a second hand car since the 20th of September and it is with absolute shock to see how our second hand motor market has been totally abused where self employed car salesmen/car dealerships/ ******* panel shops/********** selling cars that have been shockingly repaired and sold on the local car market. I want to know what law do we in SA have and why are cars that should be written off and s****ped are been allowed to be repaired??? The Insurance companies willingly sell these wrecks to the salvage dealers/contractors for a higher value as opposed to a written off code 3 vehicle for a lower value. Where is the law gone in South Africa and why are the salvage dealers allowed to sell these absolute wrecks to make money off of wrecks ******* written off vehicles. These same wrecks get repaired and in tern flood the market with absolute wrecks on the roads and endanger not only the driver of the vehicle but all the other road users. The road worthy of the vehicles are also bought and these ******* vehicle are been sold way more then the actual value of the vehicle and clocks are turned and absolute none disclosure to the people purchasing these code 3 vehicles of these poorly repaired vehicles. This sadly all starts from our Insurance companies and it is time this ***** gets stopped in our motor industry! It is now well over a month since my car accident and my claim has still not been settled because they refuse to pay me out without my vehicle been relicensed and my original vehicle registration papers be handed to the Insurance company!!!
