Ombudsman for Short Term Insurance is paid for by the same insurance companies that we complain against. It is so much evident in the way they deal the cases. Do not waste your time with this process. You will get no legal reasoning from any of their communications. It’s just people waffling. Trust me you are much more capable dealing with the matter on your own.

We are sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience with our office or the outcome you wished for.
Although the insurer pays a fee for each complaint that is submitted to OSTI, we understand that insurers get their funding from consumers who pay their premiums. We, therefore, appreciate at all times that our services are funded both by the consumer and by the insurer. We take our role as an impartial and independent forum very seriously and deal with each complaint that is lodged with it in this way.
