Omar’s Motor Den advertising car without vat and selling with VAT.
I deleted my previous review as I want to write a new one in full. In July 2022 I saw a 2015 Polo GTI advertised by Omar’s Motor Den for R279 900. I immediately enquired about the vehicle and offered a my 2013 fiesta st for trade in which was accepted. Now I took the car using my mothers credit. I asked an employee at Omar’s Motor Den about the costs and he said it’s R279 900. Car was delivered to Mthatha and I had informed my mother the price of the car. When I requested the documents of the vehicle from Marquis Finance I then saw the car was sold as R339k which is around R59k more than the original quote!
Now these guys took advantage of my mother cause I showed her this she was very upset as I assured her the car is R279 900 as I knew she won’t read the contract.
Now to my fiesta, they took it and drove it more than 500km and came to me and said my engine is overheating 😳 how?? The engined seized! The car never gave me problems but somehow it overheated.
They now refused to take the fiesta even though a trade in was agreed. We fought with YUSUF. The person who was driving the fiesta an employee of Omar’s said the he spoke to YUSUF and YUSUF said that he will offer us R50k to so that I take the car. YUSUF had called me as I wrote on Hellopeter complaining about this that they drove my car +500km and damaged it.
I then called my mother to let her of know that they want to return the fiesta and we eventually agreed as the plan was always to sell the car. YUSUF transferred R53 996 onto my bank account to fix the fiesta and R3 996 to buy tyres for the Polo as the car had bad tyres on it.
Now it is against the tax law to advertise a car without vat. YUSUF called me today 17 December stating that the R50k he paid was the difference between the R279k and R339k which is utter bull****! That money was to fix the fiesta they DAMAGED! Which we took back.
We didn’t see the contract until this year that we were over charged for this vehicle! I have screenshots of the polo in their floor advertised at cars.Co.za…I have a screenshot of myself asking one of their employees how much the car is and he responded by R279 900, I have a WhatsApp chat where the guy who drove the car said he’s boss will give me R50k to fix the fiesta…he even asked what my mother said about the R50k.
I will surely escalate this and share on all social media platforms with all the proof including the screenshots! I know very well I am not lying here and stating facts!
In 2023 my car was involved in a car accident, where the bumper was damaged. The front lights turned out to be counterfeit as it’s easy to spot even when the car is on their floor you can see the difference in original lights and counterfeit.

Omars motor den had agreed to conclude a deal with the clients TRADE in, mentioned above without viewing the trade in (due to Umtata being 1000 kilos away from our dealership).
The contract was structured with a total amount of R329,900 + 4500 licence and registration + R2500 service and delivery which is a total cost including VAT R336,900.
How Omars motor den had come with the additional R50,000 is that we had agreed that we will trade in the Ford Fiesta St which belonged to Our client Son which had a settlement and a shortfall which was loaded onto the Polo gti and that is the reason why he was charged a additional R50,000.
On arrival at Umtata we concluded the deal on R336,900 and client signed and deal was concluded.
After the salesperson had left Umtata to come back to a Witbank he had experienced water leaking and overheating with the Ford Fiesta St TRADE in (The salesperson had taken a picture of the water coolant leaking-proof can be provided).
I Mr Yusuf Omar had immediately advised my salesperson to return the ford Fiesta St to the client and was even willing to cancel the deal with no cost to the customer even though we had taken the risk to deliver the vehicle to Umtata without seeing the trade in.
The client and the Son were both present and they both advised that they will take the cash back of R50,000 which was paid into the client account for the benefit of them repairing and settling their trade in which Omars motor den Did not trade in.
Which concludes that they had purchased the vehicle at the advertised price of
R279,900.

I literally have the contract with me so why would you say the car is R286 869.67 on the contract excluding VAT if the car really was R279 990? Then adding a VAT of R43 030.43 making the car R279 900!
Who did you speak to to mention all of this and why wasn’t this shortfall added on the contract and that being stated? You’re telling lies and I’ll show everyone that you’re. Will most definitely post this response of your lies I have proof of every chat on those days. So there without even telling the customer that there’s a shortfall of R50k which will be added that means you just do your own things to inflate your price! Are you seeing the gap in this lie of yours? There’s literally nothing on contract stating shortfall was added. Again I’ll ask if car was advertised for R279 900 why is it then R286 869.57 on the Marquis Finance quote? Another lie!

I am agreeing with you when you said you called me after my review on Hellopeter and said we can cancel the deal which I agreed to but you had to fix my car! You called me many times and I had told your salesperson who took the car that I had planned to sell the car at We Buy Cars and you stuck to that story and asked me to take the R50k to fix my car.
You say you’re a good dealership with a trusted index but then why was the car sold to my mother and tyres had to be changed, the rims were buckled and I sent you a quote from Supaquick showing you all these problems! Hence you added the R3996k so that I buy tyres and you refused to cover the buckled rim costs which i had to pay myself. To show how much i hate residual i refinanced the car and removed it and paying around R1 500 than the money i was paying in the beginning of this contract. I would never take a vehicle with residual, NEVER as to me its an indication that i can't afford the car. You can carry on with your lies you will see soon.

Only yesterday you informed me of this, not even in writing we have this shortfall. Now something as serious as a shortfall you don't think its should be included in the contract document and stated as such? Now don't you think this is misrepresentation? I sent you the contract document yesterday on WhatsApp, could you please on the contract show me where it is written shortfall with amount of R50 000 from the Fiesta. Instead the contract states the price of the car without VAT at R286 869.67 plus VAT brings the cost to R339 900 and clearly not this R279 900 you stating. So why would you proceed with this shortfall that is not on the contract without making the client aware? On arrival at Umtata we concluded the deal on R336,900 and client signed and deal was concluded.
After the salesperson had left Umtata to come back to a Witbank he had experienced water leaking and overheating with the Ford Fiesta St TRADE in (The salesperson had taken a picture of the water coolant leaking-proof can be provided).
I Mr Yusuf Omar had immediately advised my salesperson to return the ford Fiesta St to the client and was even willing to cancel the deal with no cost to the customer even though we had taken the risk to deliver the vehicle to Umtata without seeing the trade in.

An enquiry was made by the parties involved for a Polo gti which was advertised for R279,900 INCLUDING VAT (WITHOUT A TRADE IN) to repeat myself, the advertised price was R279,900 INCLUDING VAT without a trade in.
On enquiry the client advised the salesperson that she will be trading in a vehicle which belongs to the son. Ford fiesta St which had 102,600 kilos ( The sales person had taken a picture of the kilos when he recieved the trade in - proof can be attached.)
Omars motor den had agreed to conclude a deal with the clients TRADE in, mentioned above without viewing the trade in (due to Umtata being 1000 kilos away from our dealership).
The contract was structured with a total amount of R329,900 + 4500 licence and registration + R2500 service and delivery which is a total cost including VAT R336,900.
How Omars motor den had come with the additional R50,000 is that we had agreed that we will trade in the Ford Fiesta St which belonged to Our client Son which had a settlement and a shortfall which was loaded onto the Polo gti and that is the reason why he was charged a additional R50,000.
On arrival at Umtata we concluded the deal on R336,900 and client signed and deal was concluded.
After the salesperson had left Umtata to come back to a Witbank he had experienced water leaking and overheating with the Ford Fiesta St TRADE in (The salesperson had taken a picture of the water coolant leaking-proof can be provided).
I Mr Yusuf Omar had immediately advised my salesperson to return the ford Fiesta St to the client and was even willing to cancel the deal with no cost to the customer even though we had taken the risk to deliver the vehicle to Umtata without seeing the trade in.
The client and the Son were both present and they both advised that they will take the cash back of R50,000 which was paid into the client account for the benefit of them repairing and settling their trade in which Omars motor den Did not trade in.
Which concludes that they had purchased the vehicle at the advertised price of
R279,900.

You know very well that the R50k that was paid to me was cover the repairs to the fiesta you employee drove for more than 500km then somehow the engine overheated. In my 2 years of owning the car not even once did it overheat.
Of cause I deleted the reviews as I responded in private. I want everyone to see how this dealership does wrong to their customers.
Now I have tried to trade in the fiesta a couple of times but if the there was a shortfall I would back out of that deal. Why would I take it with you?
Where in contract does it state anything about a shortfall? Who did you communicate this with? Both my mother are I are calling bull**** to this statement you are making. Nowhere in the contract does it state anything about a shortfall.
