Worst experience. An enormous (I’m not exaggerating) fly landed on me in the restaurant whilst eating. I was disgusted couldn’t even finish my food. The store is in Pavilion shopping centre. Also the cutlery was not up to standard.

I posted a review directly on Old Town Italy's page as they charged us a surcharge of an extra R65, over and above, a bland pizza, which had no cheese, no tomato base, with pineapple and chicken as my husband has Hashimoto's... He cannot eat diary, cannot eat carbs, cannot eat nightshades (tomato potato), cannot eat gluten, cannot have coffee, cannot have sodas, alcohol, cannot have dessert......newly diagnosed...he's miserable... We go out to eat, and gosh, hes now a foodie-disabled person and gets further bashed!!!! He's not choosing a gluten base because he's a health nut...So the reason we are here, on Hello Peter, is because their response was less than satisfactory... They merely said sorry, hope you'll come back...not "Can we reimburse you the R65, we see the error of our ways"...no!! We didnt take it up with the waitress as I'd had an issue about there not being red house wine...so didnt want too many issues.....but I feel for my husband, not only can he not eat much, but now he's further prejudiced by these restaurants cashing in...not on!!!! Until it happens to you.

I had a highly disappointing experience with Old Town Italy uMhlanga (part of the Life & Brand Portfolio) that dragged on for nearly four months due to sheer management incompetence. In late November, I was billed three times for a single meal, once via a physical card machine, and twice via Zapper. I spent the next four months constantly emailing their management team (including the Area Manager) trying to get my ****** funds returned. After months of delays, ignored emails, and stonewalling, management finally claimed they couldn't process the refund because "the funds were with Zapper" and tried to shift the blame. However, when I demanded they actually contact Zapper, Zapper located the funds and initiated the refund in less than an hour. It took Old Town Italy nearly four months and legal involvement on my behalf for them to send a single email to their own payment partner. Getting your own money back from an error made by this establishment requires fighting tooth and nail. The food might be good, but the customer service and management at Old Town Italy uMhlanga are non-existent. Proceed with caution.

This was at the suncoast branch. Mouldy cake sold to me serious food safety concern and very disappointing. When I made the purchase, the cake slice was packed for me by your staff member while it was still on display. Unfortunately, because I was eating ice cream at the time, I did not inspect the slice before it was packaged. When I arrived home and attempted to eat it, I discovered visible mould on the top of the cake. I had already taken a bite before noticing this, as the mould was not immediately visible from the side. When I tired to reach out to the store there was no response via email or call.

Stopped for a post run breakfast date with my husband. Was a fairly quiet morning in the restaurant. I ordered the eggs Benedict which was prepared incorrectly...to the managers credit same was acknowledged and redone. Just took so long I was prepared to abandon it...rather visit the umhlanga branch
