OK furniture Middelburg Eastern Cape. Yesterday the 8/01/2025 I visited the store to purchase a coffee table. I walked through the store and saw a coffee table I was interested in. Firstly, the table I was interested in, I was not advised it was the last one and was the one on display. The salesperson did not take me with to look at the condition and both be satisfied with the quality the item it's in and be offered a discount if need be if I am still interested in the item in a condition, it was in. To me it would have been fair when I told her that I was interested in a item on display that we both have a look it whether all is in order before I left the store. The table delivered is damaged it has chips at the corners and you can even see those chips have been there for a while as is definitely not showing as a new chip . When I got home round about 17h00 and had a look at items delivered. I noticed the damages and it was already late to go back to the store immediately. They are refusing to take back the item as they claim it was in order when taken from the store. Is this how OK furniture operates and makes their money by robbing people. If the Manager don't want to answer for damaged items at the store does that mean it must be sold falsely to the public. With their 7 days return policy how would I have seen the table if I did not unwrap the plastic that it was covered with. Does it mean now since the item had to be at my house overnight its used. I have pictures of other tables taken at the store today on display with chips. What does it mean, will they also be sold to consumers falsely. The Manager does not even show a care in the world. I had to force her to speak to me as she was referring to sales person even though I was there and advised that the Area Manager was on leave when needed to speak to her or him. It was only the sales person who had a care to help and she was not even interested to ask whether did I get through the customer care number or what happened as I passed her on the way as I was leaving the shop. I could not even get through the customer care line *** as it kept on cutting off. As far as I know shops also assist with assembling items that need assembling when one buys it. The chairs for the dinner table set I bought are still lying at home I have to see what to do with them. The only thing that staff of OK furnitures Middelburg EC care about is making sales of which they did as my R5028.00 is laying in their account
