Broken goods. No service

Good Day

I purchased a 3 piece Alexis Recliner Lounge Suite from the Vredendal branch of OK Furniture on 7 June 2013.

The couch was a wonderful purchase, up until just after the one year warrantee expired.

The springs gave way, and the seating broke completely.

My first course of action was to speak with the supervisor of the shop, who came to visit me at home and inspected the couch. She admitted that there was something wrong with the couch, and then never got back to me.

Next I managed to get a hold of a Miss Deloshny, who was at that time the personal assistant to the head Buyer for OK Furniture, a man she named Marius Van Staden. She told me that Marius was working on a trip over-seas, and that she would relate my complaint to him when he returned.

Eventually, I was able to speak to Marius, who then directed me to speak with the new Manager of the Vredendal Branch of OK Furniture, where I had purchased the couch, a man named Ken.

Ken and three of his associates came to my home and inspected the couch. Just like with the first Supervisor, they said that they can see something was wrong with the couch. They offered to re-upholster the couch, but I reminded them that there was nothing wrong the upholstery, but with the mechanical parts of the recliner.

Ken then said that he would resolve the problem. This was 5 months ago. I have yet to hear back from anyone, and I am at the end of my rope.

I completely understand that the company institutes a one-year policy, but for the amount of money I paid for the furniture, it makes absolutely no sense that it would literally only last a year.
