Betrayal of Trust by OK Furniture and Rainbow Finance

My mother purchased couches from OK Furnitures Mayfield on credit (through Rainbow Finance) over a year ago. At the time, she was a domestic worker, but she was retrenched. She took out insurance on the credit with Rainbow Finance. When she lost her job and couldn't afford the monthly instalments, she submitted a claim with Rainbow Finance, hoping that they would cover the remaining payments. However, they have only paid for 12 months, leaving her with 10 or so months of payments still outstanding.

Rainbow Finance is now threatening to repossess the couches. This raises questions about how Rainbow Finance expects someone who has no income to be able to pay the monthly instalments. This needs to be addressed, not only for my mother but for everyone who has signed these contracts with OK Furniture / Rainbow Finance.
