Good but not Spectacular!
We went to Ogalito's, Woodlands on Sunday for lunch - our first visit there in several years. The restaurant has an extensive menu, but does specialise in seafood dishes. I am sorry to say that we always considered Ogalito's a more upmarket establishment, but it appears to have lowered its standard to market to the more average consumer and although still good, does not seem to have the same exclusivity that it used to have.
To food was good without being spectacular. My wife had the fish platter and my daughter had queen prawns, both of which they enjoyed. I had a fillet steak, which I ordered medium, but came more medium to well - it was nice but I have had better steaks in my life. My son, who in his defence will eat anything, enjoyed his Ribs and Buffalo wings!
The service again was good without being exceptional - the waitron doing his job adequately and he was worth his 10% tip.
What we didn't particularly like is that the tables are quite close together and we didn't feel that any effort had been made with social distancing. It was crowded and when we eat out nowadays, we want to sit a fair way from the table next to you.
Overall, it was a good meal but we've only rated them 4 stars due to the lack of social distancing in the venue and the fact that they seem to no longer cater to a more exclusive clientele, which is what we prefer. I would rate them nowadays no better than a Spur or Ocean Basket type of establishment. It's a great pity, because in the days when they were in Hatfield, we used to love them and went regularly!
We may be back, but sadly Ogalito's won't be our first choice for the time being.
