WebAfrica and their ****s!
I wanted to move my router from my flat to my new house and logged a request with WebAfrica to move with my WiFi package. They quoted me a R999 cancellation and moving fee, which I was shocked about. An agent, Sindisiwe M., suggested a "transfer of ownership" with no fees, which made me feel more comfortable. I cancelled the move request and proceeded with the transfer. However, I received a notification stating I owed WebAfrica funds for moving and cancellation. I reached out to another agent, Marrisa B., who assured me the fees would be waived.
Despite this, WebAfrica continued to deduct funds from my account without notice. I paid for 2 months of service and was moving out on July 1st. On June 25th, the payment for the WiFi went off, and I expected no further charges. However, on July 6th, WebAfrica tried to deduct R972.37 from my account, which reversed due to insufficient funds. Five days later, they deducted R723.37 without any communication or explanation.
I fought with WebAfrica for weeks, and one agent, Baliwe M., claimed the charges were for cancellation fees and keeping the line active. This contradicted everything previous agents had told me. WebAfrica's service is appalling, and they show no accountability. They attempted to take almost R2000 from me in 10 days without any apology or acknowledgement. After disputing the charges, they offered a meager R220 credit.
I advise others to be cautious when dealing with this company. WebAfrica's lack of transparency and poor customer service is unacceptable. They ignored my threats to share my experience publicly and didn't even bother to call me back. I hope my story serves as a warning to others, and I wish WebAfrica would take responsibility for their mistakes.
