So close, yet so far
After six years of being under debt review I finally finished up all my debt and supp**** the paid up letters to Octogen and my file has been handed over to the clearance department. Up until then, I hardly have any complaints with the company besides a few hiccups. Now my file was handed over to the clearance department last week and haven't heard from them since. Spent two days trying to get hold of them with the phone just ringing after the switchboard forwarded my call to the department to a point where it goes back to the switchboard as they do not answer. Finally, through some miracle, I came through to someone today, but the news was not good. 1. It takes seven to fourteen working days for them to do the clearance thing (which I can understand) 2. (Now here is the sad part for me.) With my file being there for a week already (or five working days and a few hours) I was informed that my file haven't even been touched yet due to them having a back log. So I was asked to call them back after 14 working days again if I don't hear from them. For everyone reaching their journey's end of being under debt review, sit back and relax because it's still a while to go before you'll get that certificate. And that's not counting for how long it will take for the status to be cleared from the credit bureaus. I can imagine that will be another challenge altogether.
