Good day,

With reference to and in response of your posting.

I am almost certain that you received this call subsequent to a visit to an Old Mutual Branch.

Octogen and Old Mutual Finance (OMF) entered into a Service Level Agreement whereby OMF can refer clients to Octogen for Financial Wellbeing and/or Debt Review Services.  Octogen is OMF’s Financial Wellbeing partner.  Octogen employs Financial Wellbeing Officers to assist with Financial Wellbeing Services (which includes analysing a credit bureau report, guide a consumer with financial education on how to manage his/her debt and to assist with budgeting towards improving  cash flow). If a consumer cannot improve their own financial situation, the client is referred to a Debt Counsellor to determine whether Debt Review is an option.

This does not mean that you have app**** for or are infact placed under debt review and you have the option, as you did, to decline the offer.

Trusting that this will meet with your approval.

Kindest Regards,
Sonnette Kretschmer

Still you have no right to do what you did it is uncalled for lying to clients then audacity to write a paragraph instead of apologising and assuring that I won't be lured into something I did not agree to me giving old mutual my details didn't authorise you as a third party to get my details still what happened to the POPIA act I ask ?

Dear Madam,

In my response to you there was nothing audatious, it was factual and to the point, however, should you feel that it warrants an apology, then please accept mine.

Octogen and Old Mutual have a working relationship, so there has been absolutely no breach of the POPIA act.

Further, I have listened to the call recording  between yourself and the financial wellness officer, I am not able to pick up any indicative of him lying to you, he explained who he was and whom he represented, as well as the reason for his call.

Kindest Regards,
Sonnette Kretschmer.
