Being mistreated after cancelling my debt review
I have been advised that I was over indebted and the only option that I had was to go under debt review. This was just before we in South Africa had a hard lockdown due to the Corona virus pandemic. I was advised by the old Mutual consultant that at anytime I feel like I was about to manage my debt I was able to cancel this. In July 2020 I requested for my debt review to be cancelled I was assured that it was cancelled and I went ahead and made contact with my creditors for payment agreements . I have now been told on the 15 of January 2021 that the debt review will not be removed from my account after I have paid lawyers fees to old Mutual. I was advised by TransUnion that I need to have the debt counsellor issue a court order in order to remove the debt review . And they will not issue it as I was advised that I need to pay all my debt before they can help me. However I have cancelled my debt review in July 2020. So why am I being penalized for currently paying off my debt and not getting a credit record as well as still being treated like a debt review client , where I have already paid lawyers fees to old Mutual and cancelled my debt review. This is a bad reflection when applying for jobs to. I've been declined for jobs due to this debt review on my name. Please help as soon as possible
