***********

My vehicle was sent to this panelbeater for accident damage repairs as they are Audi and Outsurance approved, I question how they are approved as they seem unable to deliver on their promised delivery dates. I will not belabour the point that they needed 5 weeks to repair relatively little damage as the accident was a side impact on the drivers and rear doors.

Where I will begin is the first promised delivery date of 26/08, on the evening of the 25/08 I receive a call advising me that the car will not be ready as at assembly they have discovered that the door torsion bar is bent and since it is a major safety component they would have to order it and replace it, I questioned why this was only discovered at this point and why if it is a major safety component why it was not checked intially as that is where the impact took place. The response I got from the argumentative customer liason was absolute ******* and a cover for their negligence. I was told the car would be ready on Tuesday 30/08.

I scramble and extend the hire agreement on the car I hired to Tuesday the following week, the second time I have had to do this as the inurance company only covers a rental vehicle for 30 days and with the pathetic performance of the panelbeater I had extended the rental by a week already.

On Tuesday I am advised the car will only be ready on Wednesday, and I extend the rental agreement by another day, Wednesday arrives and I return the rental, share a vehicle with my wife and get to the office. I am told at 09:30 that my car is ready for collection anytime, since I had been told the day before that it would not be ready until the afternoon I had rescheduled my meetings for the morning and informed the panelbeater that I would collect it later. Around 12:30 I receive a call advising me not to collect the car as it had developed a warning light issue and they had to send the vehicle to Audi, the farscical story given to me by the argumentative customer liason was unbelievable. He stated that the warning light was for an area they had not worked on, basically informing me that at some stage they were going to pass the cost of that on to me, that is how I understood him. I was informed to collect the car after 15:00.

At 14:55 on route to collect the vehicle I receive another call from him advisng that Audi cannot clear the warning light and they will need more time, at this point I blow up as I now sit with one vehicle between two very busy business people who work 50 kilometres apart. I find out which Audi dealership the vehicle is at and I go and find out what is going on. At Audi I am informed that they beleive that the wiring harness is damaged, that would be the wiring harness that runs through the door where the torsion bar has just been replaced, since it is an electrical fault they will need time to trace where the fault is and to repair it, how much time well no one can tell me that. So the damage has occurred by negligence from the person installing the torsion bar, as far as I am concerned it should be replaced and not repaired but I do not believe I would see my vehile for another month if I pushed for this.

At no point has North City panelbeaters apologised or accepted responsbility for their dismal performance, they would rather keep trying to spin tall tales about how all these occurences are beyond their control. At no stage have they offerred a courtesy vehicle or any other form of assistance, it has simply been argumentative hot air.

I for one will ensure that no vehicle under my control will ever be sent to this panelbeater for any reason, they are ***********.
