Nokia is ripping us off

I recently bought a Nokia 1, It's less than a month old. It does not want to charge anymore, it keeps showing a question mark when connected to charger. Tried taking it back to the store I bought it from, but they want to take it for repairs, that I will pay for. I am not the only one with the problem. This is really ridiculoul!
