Nokia 5 Ridiculously Uncontrollable Loud Start Up Tone

I have just bought a Nokia 5. It seemed a very nice phone... untill the start up tone informs you and everyone in a mile radius that you have just switched your phone on . Then it gets worse - there is no way or manner to control or mute or turn the volume down on this megaphone start up. Please can you tell me, either how to remove or delete the loud uncontrollable noise. Please let me know as soon as possible so I can return the phone if there's no sollution.
