Worst purchase and service Nissan Vereeniging and Magnite
My complaint is regarding the Nissan Magnite as well as the poor service delivery of Nissan Vaal.
I bought my Nissan Magnite Acenta Plus new in March 2023 at the Vereeniging branch. From the get go - problems. Not even driving 100km with the new vehicle, the brake pads had to be replaced. This was replaced at the Vanderbijl branch April 2023.
June 2023 I took the vehicle back to the Vanderbijl branch - tyre pressure sensor issue. The front tyre sensor kept on giving an error / check tyre pressure sensor even though the tyre was correctly inflated at 2.5 bar. This was then corrected.
February 2025 the rear tyre started with a loud whining sound. Took the vehicle to the Vereeniging branch as the Vanderbijl branch stopped servicing Nissan - it was confirmed that a new wheel bearing replacement is needed. The vehicle also started showing signs of rust, but the branch indicated that there’s nothing they can do about that.
Today, 23 January 2026, I took my vehicle to the Vereeniging branch for the 40 000km service interval as well as requested a new tyre valve for the rear right tyre as you cannot inflate the tyre with air. Upon dropping my vehicle off at 8am there were NO warnings on the dash regarding the tyres and all tyres are in an excellent condition (replaced all tyres Aug 2025).
I was informed that the warranty will not cover the tyre valve. I need to pay for a new valve-sensor, which I agreed to and paid. Telephonically I was informed that there is a valve-sensor in stock and they will proceed. Later on I received another call informing me that this sensor does not fit, a new one will have to be ordered, and I can collect my vehicle. Upon arriving at the branch, just after 1pm, my car was parked on the pavement next to the entrance. The right front tyre was on the kerb.
I suspected nothing strange or worrisome and proceeded to leave. As soon as I drove off the puncture alarm went off for the front right tyre. I immediately messaged the service consultant asking if work was done on the front tyre because the alarm went off. I was informed that work was done on the back tyre only but I can bring the vehicle back. I informed the consultant that I cannot go back as I have meetings in JHB to attend to.
As soon as I was on the highway the steering and drive of the vehicle felt different (driving 100km/h). As soon as I had the opportunity to stop at a save location I had the opportunity to inspect the front right tyre. I saw that it was very deflated and the valve cap was missing. I informed the service consultant of this and told her that work was done on this tyre. Again she denied this and indicated that they did reprogram all the tyre sensors so it’s strange. She also confirmed that the tyre was not removed by them personally as they took the car to Thomas Tyres for assistance.
I proceed to Tiger Wheel and Tyre as I was concerned that the tyre had a puncture as it was deflated. They inspected the tyre and confirmed that there’s no puncture but the tyre needs air, they also replaced the valve cap. I informed the service consultant of this and told her that Nissan will be liable if there’s any damage to my rim and/or tyre. I was the bluntly informed that it’s not an issue because they worked on the tyre sensors and it’s a one line connection therefore the front shows puncture but the problem remains as a result of the back tyre.
I told the consultant that the problem is giving me a tyre that’s insufficiently filled with air. It is a high risk and I could have had an accident. She confirmed she will ask the manager to phone me to explain how the tyre sensors work.
The issue and concern clearly missed by Nissan. A vehicle with correctly aired tyres dropped off at Nissan with no warnings on the dash, and in return you get a deflated tyre back and no valve cap.
The manager and service consultant is not transparent as to what was done on the tyres and are covering for each other.
