Unreliability of Nissan South Africa Warranty I never Knew.

I would like to Share my discontent with Nissan South Africa, early March 2024 I towed my NP200 to Nissan Lionel motors in Rustenburg because the car was refusing to start. The response I received from the dealer was that my engine Block is damaged, because I did not put in antifreeze which was bizarre cos I have never driven the vehicle without water/coolant/antifreeze.

We attempted to claim the damage from warranty as the vehicle is still under warranty but the claim to fix the engine block was rejected claiming owners negligence, apparently I drove the vehicle with only water for a “long term” (mind you the car has 61 000 km on the clock)which caused rust that further damaged the engine block.

What is surprising is that they approved a claim to replace the Themorstat, the main aim of the themostart is to maintain operating temperature in the engine vehicle, so which means if the thermostat is not working properly it will cause overheating to the car.

It’s now May and now I am expected to come up with money to fix a problem that is not caused by me. Thank you Nissan for not caring about your clients. I would advise strongly against Nissan. I am not a first time driver or owner of a vehicle so I know it’s risky to drive a car without a coolant I feel very offended for Nissan to think so low of me.

Dear Nissan South Africa, it has been 7 days since you said you would review my case and I still have not heard anything from you. Or is this an automated reply that you send to everyone? I have been without my car since early March. be considerate
