UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE AND EXPERIENCE
Its a pity that there is a "no star" rating option because Nissan does not deserve this one star. The following will hopefully explains the reason for my dissatisfaction. 27/03 - my car went in for a service (no feedback received from Nissan of any issues) 01/04 - on our way back from Durban we heard a loud noise every time you app**** brakes which forced us to stop at Harrismith Nissan only to hear that the brake pads are worn and should be replaced, R2500 and 3.5 hours later we've replaced it as advised. (Once again this was not brought to our attention on 27/03) 06/04 - not far from home, my car's engine cut out while driving, it was late and it rained so we towed the vehicle home. 07/04 - Called Nissan Menlyn who informed us that the car is under warranty and advised that we call Nissan Road Side Assist to take to vehicle to a dealer. Nissan Roadside Assist loaded my vehicle and we paid extra for the car to be taken to Nissan Menlyn. 08/04 - Nissan Menlyn advised that the estimate time for the repair/replacement on the engine is 2 to 3 weeks. 14/04 - Nissan Menlyn informed my husband than the fan belt broke, went into the engine and caused excessive damage to the engine. They also advised that assessors will inspect the damages for the claim to be authorized. (Once again, wasn't the fan belt supposed to be checked on 27/03??) 15/04 - 26/04 - no feedback on the authorization of the claim 16/04 - I contacted the Innovation group directly to enquire on the delay. Mashobane advised that the delay is from the dealer's side. 28/04 - received an sms that the claim has been authorized - Mashobane informed me telephonically that Nissan SA should provide me with a courtesy car. 30/04 - I contacted Nissan SA to intervene for the following reasons - 1) it is longer than the estimated timeframe which is unacceptable 2) The dealer manager (John) informed us that even though the assessor agreed with the parts that needs to be replaced, certain, yet important parts got rejected. Nissan Menlyn raised their concerns and dismay and also advised that the problem will repeat itself if they don't replace everything as per their report, only to receive a response that the engine can then be "fixed" again should it be the case. This mentality is shocking to say the least and for that reason my advise to other people considering Nissan will be to reconsider.
To date being 05/05, I have not received feedback from Nissan SA and I am still without a car and courtesy car. I have also not received any clarity on when I will get my car back.
This week will be the 5th week and I urge Nissan SA to expedite this matter, by failure I will have no alternative as to take this matter further!
