Terrible Service at Nissan
I was in an accident on the 14th of January 2019. My car was sent to Winclo Assessment Centre in Balito on the 15th January 2019. On the 4th of February 2019 I was told to bring my car into Winclo Assessment centre as the specific parts had all been ordered and arrived. I was due to pick up my car on the 8th of February 2019. In the interim I was to hire a car, where I had to pay the insurance at a daily rate. I HAD to take the insurance as I work at a rural hospital and attend out reach clinics where the roads are not tarred. On the 7th of February 2019, I was informed that the part from Nissan was in fact the incorrect part. This story later changed. I was told it was the correct part but due to mishandling in the factory it had become damaged. During this period I received very little information from Nissan, where the part was originally ordered, and when I continually followed up regarding how the part was administered if damaged, no one took responsibility and the blame was shifted elsewhere. Each time either my Father or myself following up. Not one employer from Nissan contacted us, even after requesting so. My rental was then extended until the 13th of February. On the 11th of February 2019 I received an SMS informing myself that the Avis rental had now been extended to the 23rd of February 2019. I had not even been informed as to why. I then followed up and was now told that Nissan does not actually have the part in South Africa and it needs to be ordered from Spain. I fail to understand how this procedure had gotten so far. From the 16th of January to the 4th of February the part has been sourced from Nissan, this confirmed by your warehouse as they sent the part to Winclo. A damaged part was then delivered and then no one followed up regarding replacements. Furthermore no one in the company could source a new part. Then I was told a new part will be ordered but this can take up to 7-10 working days. I now had my rental car from the 4th – 22nd of February 2019. The costs incurred due to insurance R1309.00. I then received my car back in the same condition I had dropped off it off.
My issue lies here within. Due to poor inspection on your companies part (Nissan), a damaged part was released to a panel beater. In that period where it was sent back, no one informed the panel beater (Winclo) that there were no further parts in South Africa. It took myself and my Father continually following up to get that information. I could have been driving my car in the interim as it was drivable. Due to poor communication and poor service on your part, I received my car in the same condition from when I had initially dropped it off. Furthermore I had incurred a R1309.00 expense from Avis Rental in Balito for the insurance on the car. I do not see it fit that I be liable for this payment as the time it took to incur was due to error and poor service on Nissans part.
